Friction shifter that pulls 50mm cable. Great choice for 1x setups with wide range cassettes. The 12-speed gearbox has been shown to work. Shifts any 11-speed road derailleur (and Shimano MTB 10-speed Dyna-Sys). Also shifts older 7/8/9-speed derailleur gears.
The micro-ratchet design makes the effort required when upshifting and downshifting feel almost the same.
