The Giant Defy Advanced 2 is a modern endurance road bike specifically designed for long distances and superior riding comfort. Its Advanced-Grade Composite Carbon frame offers an excellent balance of stiffness, low weight, and vibration damping – ideal for extended training rides, marathons, or demanding tours.
For added comfort, the D-Fuse seatpost and D-Fuse handlebars effectively absorb shocks and vibrations from the road. This keeps the bike comfortable to ride even on long stages and significantly reduces fatigue. Equipped with a Shimano 105 2x12-speed groupset, hydraulic disc brakes, and robust Giant P-R1 Disc wheels, the Defy Advanced 2 impresses with precise shifting performance, reliable braking power, and excellent everyday usability. The tubeless-ready tires (up to approximately 38-40 mm) also offer increased comfort, traction, and puncture protection – even on rough asphalt or cobblestones.
-
Functional simplicity: Without unnecessary frills, the frame is one of the lightest in its category. With its perfect balance between high responsiveness and all-day comfort, it offers a "less is more" experience for modern endurance road cycling.
-
Engineered compliance: The high-quality carbon frame and fork are specifically designed for endurance road cycling, providing a smooth and efficient ride that minimizes fatigue on long rides. The new D-Fuse components work together to further reduce road shocks and vibrations.
-
Total control: The new Contact D-Fuse handlebar features an ergonomic shape and an 8-degree flare for comfort and control on long rides. The wide aluminum rims are optimized for high-volume tubeless tires (up to 38 mm) and ensure predictable handling and stability on asphalt and cobblestones.
Technologies:
Advanced Composite Technology: GIANT's high-performance carbon fiber is used to create this special carbon frame material, which is woven and manufactured in-house and boasts an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio. The front triangle is molded as a single piece. The modified monocoque construction eliminates the need for a separate outer woven composite layer. This reduces weight without compromising ride quality, stability, or stiffness.
Compact Road Design: Introduced by GIANT in the 1990s with the professional ONCE team, the Compact Road Design revolutionized the look of high-performance racing bikes forever. A sloping top tube creates smaller front and rear triangles for a lighter, stiffer bike. It makes it easier for riders of all sizes to find the perfect fit.
D-Fuse Technology:The seatpost and handlebars with D-Fuse technology are designed to work as a system, absorbing shocks and vibrations from the road so you can ride further and faster.
Tubeless System: Fewer punctures. Better traction. Lower rolling resistance. GIANT's Tubeless System makes installation easier and ensures extra riding fun.
OverDrive Aero:The D-shaped steerer tube and corresponding spacers are located in the head tube of the all-new Propel range, offering an extremely aerodynamic, easier-to-maintain system with internally routed brake and shift cables.
