A key component of the new Ritchey WCS Switch System, Ritchey's latest headset upper is specifically engineered for the Ritchey Switch stem and routes cables, wires, and hydraulic lines from the handlebar to the bike frame. The cables route from the handlebar into the headset channel on the underside of the Switch stem and then pass through an opening on the front of the WCS Switch headset spacers before entering the frame through two channels on top of the headset. This system allows the headset bearings to function without interference from cables, wires, or lines running through the head tube.
The WCS Switch headset comes with two Switch spacers. Additional Switch spacers are also available separately.
Important: The length of the headset cable channel must match the length of the desired Switch stem (only for headsets with cable routing).
The Ritchey Switch System is an innovative, integrated system that easily conceals the internally routed cables, wires, and hydraulic lines from the handlebar in bicycle frames with a straight 1.5-inch head tube and 1-1/8- to 1.5-inch tapered forks.
