The Hyper JR + rear hub is the new development by the Italian lightweight construction company Extralite especially for standard J-Bend spokes. It is probably one of the lightest rear hubs available on the market, with a weight of 185 g. Especially the oversized hub flanges with the wide spacing are part of the weight secret, they directly reduce the high loads and with their stable base ensure an extremely stiff wheel, especially for 29ers. Of course, typical for Extralite, executed with the highest precision. This not only saves weight but also looks extremely good. Extralite's unique micro-tuner bearing adjustment system enables the bearing clearance to be set easily and externally. The precise setting of the hub bearings ensures low bearing friction and no play on the rim. The main bearings are made extra stable and are also available in ceramic on request. A toothed disc freewheel with 36 teeth absorbs the most extreme loads and ensures quick response on the trails. Seldom has lightness been so combined with low maintenance and resilience.
