A brass brake cable ferrule, designed for use with 5 mm brake cable housing – manufactured by Nissen in Japan.
While most ferrules are typically produced via casting, these examples are created through precise CNC machining. The decisive advantage of CNC manufacturing lies in its superior precision. The ferrule's exact fit optimizes braking feel; furthermore, the cable opening is machined to ensure a seamless transition, thereby reducing friction for the brake cable to an absolute minimum.
Thanks to the material's high strength—unlike with plastic ferrules—you need not worry about the component breaking during use. At the same time, you can enjoy the unique aesthetic of brass, whose appearance develops a charming patina over time.
